Cities & regions
Where to go and how they differ — a short guide to the main cities and resorts.
Ubud
The cultural heart in the island's centre: the Tegallalang rice terraces, the Tirta Empul spring temple, the Monkey Forest, crafts and yoga-wellness. The green, unhurried core of Bali away from the beaches.
Seminyak
The fashionable resort of the south-west: beach clubs, fine-dining restaurants, boutiques and famous ocean sunsets. The centre of premium beach life and nightlife.
Canggu
Surf and the digital-nomad lifestyle: black volcanic-sand beaches, rice fields by the ocean, trendy cafés. A young, relaxed pace next to Seminyak.
Uluwatu
The south of the Bukit peninsula: sheer cliffs, the Uluwatu temple on a rock above the ocean with a sunset Kecak dance, secluded cove beaches and the island’s best surf breaks.
Nusa Penida
The neighbouring island with the most photogenic views: the Kelingking cliff ('T-Rex'), Manta Bay, Broken Beach. The goal of day trips by private boat or yacht.
Sanur
The calm east coast: a long boardwalk, quiet reef-protected beaches, boats to Nusa Penida and Lembongan. A measured alternative to the busy south — for an unhurried stay.
Housing rental
Rental and purchase live on the real estate site. We speak the relocator's language: a yearly contract, deposit, minimum term and whether the contract works for a residency application.

Taking a pet to Bali: timelines and documents
We moved to Bali with a dog and, a week before the flight, learned pets aren't allowed in directly. Here's how importing animals into Indonesia actually works — the route via Jakarta, an ISO microchip, the rabies titre test and quarantine — and where Grand Life stepped in.

Visas and residency in Bali: an overview of grounds
We flew to Bali for two weeks and ended up staying — and the first wall we hit was visas. We tell it from our own experience and by the facts: short-stay visas and the visa run, KITAS types and the sponsor, the Second Home Visa. With no promises of outcome.
FAQ
How is a Bali visa different from a European one?+
Different grounds and timelines. In a consultation we'll go through the suitable categories for your case — with no promises of approval.
